This privacy policy describes how Underwater Friends A-Z (operated by Csilla Vasarhelyi, sole proprietor) collects, uses, and protects your personal information. What Information We Collect

When you place an order: your name, email address, billing address, and payment information (processed securely by WooCommerce Payments — we never store your full card details).

When you submit a school nomination: your name and email address if you choose to join the mailing list, school name, community, province, and any additional details you provide, and how you heard about the giveaway.

When you sign up for our mailing list: your name and email address.

Automatically collected: basic website usage data through standard WordPress analytics.

How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to process and fulfill orders, send order confirmations and updates, deliver digital products, notify you when out-of-stock products become available, send mailing list updates about restocks and new products, administer the School Nomination Campaign, and contact winning schools. We will never sell your personal information to third parties.

The School Nomination Campaign

Nomination form submissions are stored securely in Google Sheets, accessible only to Underwater Friends A-Z. Ocean Wise may receive aggregate campaign statistics such as total nominations and geographic reach as part of our grant reporting obligations. Ocean Wise does not have access to individual nomination data except for the mailing addresses of winning schools, shared solely for prize fulfillment coordination.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored using WooCommerce and WordPress hosted on Hostinger, WooCommerce Payments powered by Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant — we never store full card details), Google Sheets for nomination and mailing list data, and Google Apps Script for form processing. We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information, but no method of internet transmission is 100% secure.

Email Communications

If you join our mailing list, we will send occasional updates about restocks, new products, giveaways, and news. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying with “unsubscribe” or contacting hello@underwaterfriendsaz.ca. We do not send spam.

Our website uses standard WordPress and WooCommerce cookies to manage your shopping session and cart. These cookies do not collect personal information and are deleted when you close your browser or complete your purchase.

Third Party Services

We use WooCommerce Payments and Stripe (stripe.com/privacy), Google Sheets, Apps Script, and reCAPTCHA (policies.google.com/privacy), and Hostinger (hostinger.com/privacy-policy).

Your Rights

Under PIPEDA you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request corrections, withdraw consent, and request deletion. Contact us at hello@underwaterfriendsaz.ca and we will respond within 30 days.

Children’s Privacy

Our website and shop are intended for use by adults and educators purchasing on behalf of children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top reflects when it was last updated. Continued use of our website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
